So, like, Thailand is gonna test out this whole cellphone disaster alert thing, you know? The big shots over at the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation are gonna give it a go next month in some parts of Bangkok. They wanna make sure everyone gets the message if something bad happens, whether it’s a natural disaster or some security thing, I guess.
Starting on May 2, they’re gonna start small, like testing it out on four city hall buildings. Then, they’ll keep going until the whole Bangkok and Chiang Mai provinces are covered on May 13. So, if you’re in those areas, keep an eye out for a message on your phone in Thai and English, plus a siren. Hope it works, I guess?
