Education officials announced today that the results of this year’s Territory-wide System Assessment (TSA) have shown stable scores over time. The assessment tests students in Chinese, English, and mathematics to gauge their proficiency in these subjects.

For primary three students, the scores were slightly lower this year compared to last year. The proficiency rates were 80.9 percent in Chinese, 78.7 percent in English, and 85.3 percent in maths. On the other hand, secondary three students performed better in Chinese and maths this year, although their English scores saw a decline from the previous year.

The Education Bureau stated that overall, the performance of primary three and secondary three students in the three major subjects remained generally steady. Despite the slight fluctuations in scores, the Bureau is committed to finding different ways to improve learning and teaching methods to enhance effectiveness.

It is essential to note that while the scores may have shown some variation, the focus should be on providing students with the necessary support and resources to help them excel in their studies. This includes implementing new strategies and initiatives to address any areas of weakness identified in the assessment results.

In addition to the TSA results, it is crucial for educators and parents to work together to create a supportive learning environment for students. This collaborative effort plays a significant role in ensuring that students receive the guidance and assistance they need to reach their full academic potential.

Moving forward, the Education Bureau will continue to monitor student performance and make adjustments as needed to improve overall educational outcomes. By working together and staying proactive in addressing challenges, we can help students achieve success and thrive in their academic pursuits.
