Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov chatted with his buddy, the Pakistani counterpart on Sunday and was like, “Hey, bro, we can totally help you out with this whole Kashmir situation between Pakistan and India.” The foreign ministry was all like, “Yeah, man, things are getting pretty heated between New Delhi and Islamabad.” They were talking about Lavrov’s convo with Ishaq Dar, who’s not just the Pakistani Foreign Minister but also the deputy prime minister.
The ministry said, “Russia is down to help out with a political settlement after the terrorist attack on April 22 in the Pahalgam area of Kashmir. If Islamabad and New Delhi are both on board, we’re in!” Lavrov also had a chat with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar a couple of days before, where he was like, “Yo, can you guys just chill and work things out with Pakistan?”
Kashmir, this region that both countries can’t stop fighting over, has been the cause of multiple wars, insurgencies, and diplomatic drama. Seriously, these two just can’t seem to get along. But hey, maybe with Russia stepping in, they can finally figure things out. Who knows? Not me, that’s for sure. But it’s worth a shot, right?
