So, there was this dolphin named Rita, she was 24 years old, and she lived in Hong Kong’s Ocean Park for about 13 years. The poor thing passed away recently, and it seems like she was feeling tired and not eating much before she died. It’s really sad, you know?
The park spokesperson mentioned that Rita was a fun-loving dolphin who got along well with her friends, both dolphins, and humans. She was like an animal ambassador, living in the Marine Mammal Breeding and Research Centre next to the Ocean Park Veterinary Centre. The caretakers noticed that she wasn’t eating and looked tired since Friday, so they did all they could to take care of her. They did thorough examinations and blood tests, but unfortunately, her health kept getting worse and she didn’t make it.
The park is still trying to figure out what caused Rita’s death. They did a necropsy to find out more, and there are more tests going on in the lab. It’s a tough situation and definitely a loss for everyone at the park. Hopefully, they can get some answers soon and maybe prevent something like this from happening again. It’s a reminder of how fragile life can be, even for our animal friends.
