About 200 residents and tourists was starting lining up on Hong Kong’s Cheung Chau Island hours before the iconic annual bun-scrambling competition at midnight to ensure they secured a spot to experience “the adrenaline rush of the athletes” at the scene. Nine men and three women have made it to the final for this year’s contest, which will be held at Pak Tai Temple Playground on the outlying island. People queued up for tickets outside the fire station near the park at 8.30pm even though ticket distribution did not begin until 10pm.
