The Hong Kong Observatory has lifted all typhoon signals at 12:20 am on Sunday as Typhoon Trami moves further away from the city. Previously, the Observatory had raised the Strong Wind Signal Number 3 at 10:40 am when Trami developed into a typhoon and passed about 500 kilometers south of Hong Kong.
Even though the typhoon is moving away, strong winds are still expected offshore and on high ground overnight and into the morning. Residents are reminded to avoid the shoreline and stay vigilant for any updates.
Typhoon Trami is projected to weaken as it hovers over the central coast of Vietnam today and tomorrow before possibly changing direction and heading back towards the central South China Sea. The Observatory will continue to monitor its path closely.
As the storm moves away from Hong Kong, it is crucial for residents to remain cautious and heed any future warnings or advisories issued by the Hong Kong Observatory. Stay tuned to official updates and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during the typhoon season.
